Fortnite: how to play multiplayer in split-screen

Much of the new update to Fortnite Battle Royale was the addition of split-screen multiplayer on Xbox One and PS4. This is a highly anticipated feature that will allow your friends and family to play together from the comfort of your sofa. To start a match quickly, here is everything you need to know about how to play split-screen multiplayer in Fortnite.
You can log into your own account, rather than playing as a guest, allowing you to progress as if you were playing alone.
How to Use split-screen multiplayer in Fortnite

The first thing you need to do is load Fortnite Battle Royale as you normally would and activate the second controller you want to use. Then ask your split-screen multiplayer partner to log into their account.
Then, once the second player is connected to PS4 or Xbox One, you need to hold X (PS4) or A (Xbox One) until the little circle at the bottom of the screen is filled, where the message to do so was.
Then wait for your character to appear in the hall and do what you need to do to prepare for the match.
If Player One wants to regain control of the menu in the lobby, hold X / A once more to take over, as will be said at the bottom of the screen.
Then, when you’re ready to start, press the triangle (PS4) or Y (Xbox One) to prepare. Then once Fortnite has found a game for you, it loads and you play multiplayer in split-screen.
In short, to use split-screen multiplayer in Fortnite:
- Turn on the second controller and connect to the console.
- Hold X or A to reach the hall.
- Press triangle / Y to start the match.
