Bandai Namco just revealed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 24, 2024. This will be exciting news for fans of the action role-playing fighting game, which first launched in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

As announced in a tweet, the new consoles are expected to offer better performance and visuals. Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can look forward to a smoother experience compared to the older consoles, although specific details haven’t been confirmed yet.

Bandai Namco has confirmed that existing players on PS4 and Xbox One who want to continue playing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 can upgrade or use Smart Delivery to get the new version and transfer their saved data. However, instructions for the upgrade process and save data transfer haven’t been revealed yet and are expected to be announced later.

This is important information because many players tend to switch consoles as the generations go on. Using some kind of Bandai Namco account should be enough to bring your old characters back, but we’ll have to see how the company decides to proceed. This is similar to another report we wrote about Dragon Ball FighterZ coming to newer consoles.

For those who’ve never played, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 lets you make your own character and go through the Dragon Ball world. You can battle with famous characters, train with them, and learn their special moves. There are a lot of options to create your character and play with others online.
